MusicLeader Yorkshire and the Musicians’ Union: Safeguarding Children and Safer Practice
| Description | We are delighted to be working with the Musician’s Union on collaborative training across the region this year. Safeguarding Children and Safer Practice under the new VBS Facilitated by Rosie Brown This one day course will focus primarily on safeguarding children in the morning and then in the afternoon we will examine aspects of the do's and don't of good practice. The new Vetting and Barring Scheme will also be explained and it's implications for you as practitioners. At the end of the day, particpants will: feel confident that they can identify possible signs of abuse and know who to refer on to, have an understanding the latest safeguarding legislation and the new Vetting and Barring system, have discussed current thinking on professional practice in music teaching and understand how the Musician's Union can help should an allegation be made against you. These days are particularly aimed at music practitioners who work in private teaching, classroom settings and workshop situations. |
