| Description | Advanced Music Technology and Educational Applications Run by Epiphany Music ‘Well worth attending’ I have the skills now to create and deliver a project using music technology, with clear objectives, but with personal knowledge and understanding to steer children’s learning’ Following the success of this course in the 08 – 09 academic year, Advanced Music Technology is returning to Sheffield! This course is for those music leaders who have more experience and knowledge of working with music technology and who wish to explore the educational uses and functions it can have, alongside more complex technological approaches. Topics covered will include creating a composite performance from multiple takes and ways into composition with music technology. All sessions will be supported by course notes and software distributed to participants on USB Memory Sticks. Although the course will cover many typical software applications it is not intended to be specific to any particular software. This is, therefore, not “How To use Cubase”. Instead the focus will be on key concepts and transferable skills. Many examples will be demonstrated using a variety of freely available shareware. The dates for this training are: Tuesday 11th May 2010 Tuesday 18th May 2010 Both sessions will take place at Sheffield South City Learning Centre and will run from 10am – 4pm. Epiphany Music are: Andrew Cleaton Andrew Cleaton gained an MSc in Music Technology from York University and has worked in a number of community music and educational settings. He brings to Epiphany Music a great deal of experience in arts management and public funding - gained from his time working with Arts Council England and Youth Music. Andrew is an accomplished keyboard player, composer and producer. Tracey Cleaton Tracey Cleaton is an extremely experienced teacher and workshop leader. Prior to forming Epiphany Music, Tracey worked as Head of Music & ICT in a Primary School. Tracey is a pianist, clarinettist and singer. |
